dude i’m a texting fiend. texts can be inefficient if you’re trying to have full-on convos, but a quick chat is perfect. ill tell my girlfriend im going to the gym, she tells me shes gunna be in class when i get back, i tell her to call me when shes home. solid text convo right there. [Link]

Every time I do intentionally listen to the outside world, I’m always surprised that I somehow managed to ignore all these noises most of the time. A class is a class and it’s always nice to get away from being graded. It is sad that that this is probably one of the coolest classes will have taken in college, and I, personally, feel I could have made more of it in retrospect. Ah well, that’s how life goes. [Link]

You’ve hit the nail on the head, Ben. Is all popular music somehow “rock,” making the name all but meaningless? Maybe we should come up with a definition of rock, though even Nik Cohn can’t do much better than “the very pulse of life itself,” quoting Larry Williams….
